Ashley Sisco
Founder & CEODr. Ashley Sisco is a professional research consultant and academic who brings over 20 years of experience working with Indigenous communities across Canada and in Australia as a settler (non-Indigenous person) in allyship, listening, unlearning / learning, supporting and advocating. As the Owner & CEO of SISCO, Ashley leads and supports a majority Indigenous team that provides research, evaluation, planning, facilitation, and training services to Indigenous communities, organizations, and partners (including post-secondary institutions and all levels of government) in Canada, the United States, Latin America and Australia. Ashley is also an Assistant Professor for Huron College’s Management and Organizational Studies, as well as Western University’s Faculty of Education, and School of Indigenous Studies. She also volunteers her time as a Board Member for the London Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to establishing SISCO in 2010, and then incorporating in 2014, Ashley worked as a Strategic Advisor on Indigenous programming for Thames Valley District School Board (2012-2013), an Associate and Consultant with the Indigenous Consulting firm NVision Insight Group (2012-2017), and a Research Associate with the Conference Board of Canada (2006-2010).
Ashley completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship and PhD in Education with Western University and the University of Wollongong, respectively. She has an MA in Canadian Studies (Indigenous Studies and Northern Stream) with Carleton University, and an Honours BA in Anthropology from Western University.
Alisha Fowler
Chief Operating OfficerAlisha Fowler is a settler of Irish and English descent, committed to working in allyship with Indigenous communities and people. Alisha is also a feminist leader who is dedicated to creating a workplace that is safe and inclusive for people all genders, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, and neurotypes. She has a BA in Sociology and over two decades of senior management experience. As Chief Operating Officer, she manages all business operations, including human resources, policy development and implementation, payroll and compensation, and project workflow. She also works closely with the CEO on organizational strategic planning, relationship and business development, and financial management. In her spare time, Alisha enjoys spending time with her partner and children, drinking tea while reading, walking while listening to music, and binge watching good (and also bad) shows.
Jana George
Manager of Research & Policy DevelopmentJana George is the Manager of Research and Policy Development with SISCO and a member of Chippewas of Kettle & Stony Point First Nation (CKSPFN). She started as a part-time and occasional contractor at the Research Assistant level with SISCO in 2016, while she was completing her schooling. In 2020, she became a full-time Research Assistant and integral member of the team. In 2022, Jana was promoted to Manager, and now manages research staff, subcontractors and multiple complex projects at one time proficiently, reporting directly to the Director of Operations and CEO. Jana has worked with federal, territorial, and provincial governments, as well as First Nations organizations and communities in her time with SISCO.
Prior to joining SISCO, Jana was a Policy Analyst Intern for Indigenous Services Canada, a Communications Analyst for the Royal Bank of Canada (both in 2019) and the Entrepreneurship Community Liaison for Lambton College between 2016 and 2018. She has also worked for CKSPFN directly as an Administrative Assistant in 2015. Jana has a B.A. in First Nations Studies from Western University and an M.A. from the University of Waterloo in Public Service. In her spare time, Jana spends time with family, including her beloved dog Lynyrd, and coaches her brother in competitive boxing.
Corall McNickle
Research AssociateCorall has been a Research Associate with SISCO since 2021. She is a member of Aamjiwnaang First Nation, and has an Honours Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Corall brings an analytical lens and strong writing skills, often leading report writing. Since joining SISCO, she has developed extensive experience conducting culturally safe research and engagements across a diversity of subject areas and for a wide range of client types. Corall is passionate about supporting communities from within in driving positive change.
Neesa Nahmabin
Relations and Research AssociateNeesa Nahmabin has been with SISCO since 2021. She is a member of Aamjiwnaang First Nation, who brings excellent communication, engagement and facilitation skills and experience in customer service, managing a small business, and in communications. Since joining SISCO, Neesa has developed extensive experience conducting culturally safe research, engagements and communications across a diversity of subject areas and for a wide range of client types. An alumni of Aamjiwnaang First Nation’s Youth Council, Neesa is passionate about community, youth and wellness. She belongs to a cold plunge circle and is always exploring ways to deepen her spiritual connection. She also hosts a podcast called “Don’t Quit your Daydream”.
Shawn Savage
Office ManagerShawn is a settler of mixed European heritage, who has learned and unlearned from several Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers in both Canada and Australia. He brings an eclectic background in property management and real estate, customer services, and construction and maintenance. As Office Manager, Shawn is responsible for property management of both SISCO offices, including the SISCO head office in London, Ontario and its Company Cottage located in Port Franks, Ontario for use by remotely-based staff. He also provides IT support for the team, orders and maintains equipment, arranges all staff travel, serves as the health and safety representative, organizes bookkeeping, and assists with other administrative support as needed. Shawn is a dedicated husband and father of two kids (and three cats) who enjoys fantasy football, obscure video games, action audio-books, and mountain biking.
Cultural Advisors
Dan and Mary Lou Smoke
Elders (Seneca and Ojibwe), Culture & LanguageDan Smoke is a member of the Seneca Nation. He is active in many areas of community life as a traditional knowledge carrier, community activist, and cultural teacher. Mary Lou Smoke is a member of the Ojibway Nation. She is a gifted writer, singer, guitarist and traditional drummer who generously shares her talents with her community.

Adam Sisco
Programmer, Web DeveloperSISCO routinely works with Adam Sisco Web Development on projects involving web development or programming services. Adam has custom developed countless websites, online courses (and platforms), as well as tools, including the First Nations Consultation Advocate, First Nations Economic Toolkits, and more. Adam is very respectful in his service of First Nations and understands and respects the importance of data privacy, Indigenous data sovereignty and accessibility of the tools he develops.
Katie Wilhelm
Graphic DesignerKatie is a proud Indigenous person and is a band member of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation of Neyaashiinigmiing. Katie brings extensive experience as a graphic designer, artist and advocate for community building. She graduated from Fanshawe College in London, Canada with an Ontario Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design, and In 2017, became a Certified Registered Graphic Designer with the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD).
