Riley Kennedy

Research Associate

Riley Kennedy is Haudenosaunee from the Oneida Nation of the Thames. Riley’s work is grounded in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally-centered approaches. Riley earned a Master of Social Work in Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency from the University of Toronto, and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development with a Minor in Indigenous Studies from Western University and Brescia University College.

Currently, Riley serves as a Research Associate at SISCO, focusing on wholistic wellness, community development, family well-being and youth engagement. In addition to their role at SISCO, Riley works part-time at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton on the new Indigenous Health Team working in the Mental Health and Addiction Program. Riley’s past roles include Team Lead at an Indigenous Youth Hub and various social work positions that addressed the needs of Indigenous and racialized children, youth and families. Riley’s expertise spans Indigenous wellness, youth engagement, and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion.
